SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Board of
May 2, 1974 at 11:30 a.m. with all
James A. Roemer was also present.
MAY 2, 1974
Public Works was held on Thursday,
members.present. City Attorney
The purpose of the special meeting was to review the locations
submitted by WEM. Distributors for the sale of flowers. The sites
requested were:
1. Edison and South Bend Avenue, the Linebacker Property
2. Miami and Ewing, Southeast Corner
3. Pleasant and Ironwood
4. Angela and Riverside, Northwest or Northeast Corner
Sites 1, 2 and 3 are zoned Commercial and, as such, are acceptable
for the sale of flowers. Site 4, the Angela Boulevard site, is
zoned A Residential, which does not permit the commercial use of the site.
It was noted that the petitioner had furnished, in writing,
authorization from the owners of the Miami and Ewing site and the
Pleasant and Ironwood site to use the locations for the purpose of
selling flowers. No such authorization was furnished for the Edison
and South Bend Avenue site. It was moved by Mr. Farrand and seconded
by Mr. Barcome that permission be granted to use the Miami and Ewing
site, the Pleasant and Ironwood site and the Edison and South Bend
Avenue site for the purpose of selling flowers, subject to written
authorization from the owner of the Edison and South Bend Avenue site
being furnished to the Board. Permission was denied to use the
Angela Boulevard and Riverside Drive site because of adverse zoning.
The motion carried unanimously.
It was noted that the Board will..consider a fourth location subject
to proper zoning and written authorization from the owner.
Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at
11:35 a.m.
