MEETING JUNE 21 1976 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 3:50 p.m, on Wednesday, June 2, 1976 by President Rollin E. Farrand, with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks was also present. APPROVAL OF LEASE SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATRE 701 PORTAGE AVENUE A lease agreement with the South Bend Civic Theatre for the use of the premises at 701 Portage Avenue, old Fire Station No. 6, was submitted to the Board. Deputy City Attorney .Georgia Luks advised the Board that she had reviewed and revised the lease agreement and had discussed the proposed changes with William Gooley, President of the South Bend Civic Theatre, Mr. Gooley was present and said he approved the lease in its revised form. Mrs. Luks'recommended that the Board approve the lease. Upon motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by Mr. Farrand and carried, the Board approved the lease agreement with the South Bend Civic Theatre for the leasing of the premises at 701 Portage Avenue for the period of January 1, 1976 through December 31, 1976. REQUEST APPROVED - USE OF LEASED FACILITIES BY P.A.N.A. The Board received 'a request from the South Bend Civic Theatre to allow the use of their leased property at 701 Portage Avenue on Sunday, June 6, 1976�by the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association for an ice cream social." Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request for use of the property was approved, subject to the filing of a Certificate of Insurance by the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association. CLOSING OF LELAND AVENUE ON JUNE 6 APPROVED The Park Avenue Neighborhood Association requested the closing of Leland Avenue, from Lindsey to Portage, on Sunday June 6 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., in conjunction with their Tour of Homes and Ice Cream Social. Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that the request was reviewed and approval was recommended. His Department will deliver barricades to the site. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation for the closing of Leland Avenue, from Lindsey to Portage, on Sunday, June 6 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED A Certificate of Insurance from the South Bend Civic Theatre was submitted to the Board and reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the certificate was ordered filed.
