A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
12:05 p.m, on Monday, May.3, 1976 by President Rollin Farrand
with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Mullen present.
APPROVAL OF OPEN AIR STAND - OLIVE AND SAMPLE, RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY
The Board received an application from R. D. Griffin to operate
an Open Air Stand on railroad right-of-way property at the corner
of Olive and Sample Street. Mr. Griffin has a proposed lease
agreement with Conrail for the use of the property. The Clerk of
the Board verified by telephone with Mr. Koller, Real Estate Officer
of the Conrail Chicago office, that they have agreed to accept a
$50.00 payment from Mr. Griffin for this lease and will send the
Board an executed copy of the lease upon receipt of Mr. Griffin's
payment Mr. Griffin advised the Clerk that he has a money order
to cover the lease payment which will be mailed to Conrail today.
Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried,
the Board approved the Open Air Stand, subject to securing the
proper license from the Deputy Controller's Office and to receipt
of the executed lease from Conrail.
The special meeting was, upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded
by Mr. Mullen and carried, adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
