OCTOBER 16, 1975
A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
10:00 a.m, on Thursday, October 16; 1975 with.all members present.
APPROVAL OF AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY BIKE-A-THON
The Board received a request from the American Cancer Society
to hold a Bike -A -Thou on Sunday, October 19 beginning at 9:00
a.m, at Washington High School. The organization was not aware
of the Board's guidelines for such events and had not submitted
their request and route in advance. Captain Sweitzer of the
Police Department Traffic Detail and Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of
the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,, reviewed the route and have
no objections to the event. Indemnity Insurance coverage is
being provided by Insurance Company of North America, Policy No.
OBP 55 W 408. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
approved the Bike -A -Thou, with the stipulation that any future
requests from this organization must be made in compliance with
the Guidelines of the Board.
