SPECIAL MEETING
DECEMBER 14, 1977
A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 3:00 p.m.
on Wednesday, December 14, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with
Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. The Clerk informed the
Board that members of the news media had been advised of the date and time
of this special meeting.
Mr. McMahon announced that the purpose of the special meeting was to consider
a petition for annexation and an annexation agreement which has been prepared
and submitted to the Board by Indiana Franklin Realty, Inc., owner of the
property, and Edward Rose of Indiana, developer. The Agreement requests voluntary
annexation to the City of South Bend of property located at Ireland Road,
Ironwood Road and Inwood Road, as described in Exhibits A and B as attached to
the petition. The petitioners are requesting voluntary annexation and rezoning
of the property to allow construction of a Garden Apartment Complex,: --with
city services to be made available according to the terms of the petition and
agreement. Mr. Mullen made a motion to approve the petition for annexation
and annexation agreement. Mir. McMahon seconded the motion and it. carried.
There being no further business to come before the special meeting, upon
motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the meeting
adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
