SPECIAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 29, 1977
A special meeting of.the'Board of Public Works was convened at
1:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 1977 by Patrick M. McMahon
with Mr. McMahon andjMr. Mullen present and Mr. Brunner absent.
The purpose of the special meeting was to consider a request
for traffic control on DeVon Circle from Thomas G. Podell.
Mr. Podell asked that DeVon Circle at Esther Street be barricaded
on Saturday, October,l, 1977 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and
that there be no parking on the west side of Esther Street, from
Jefferson Street to Washington Street, during that same time period
in connection with an open house to be at 1608 DeVon Circle,
site of a renovated house. Mr. McMahon noted that the Bureau of
Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department had reviewed the
request. The Bureaulof Traffic and Lighting recommended that
the request to barricade DeVon Circle be approved and that the
request to ban parking on Esther Street be changed to remove parking
on the east side of Esther, from Washington to Jefferson, to
eliminate the problem of people crossing the street in the middle
of the block. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr.
Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved as submitted.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon
motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the
meeting adjourned ati,1:45 p.m.
