HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/27/77 Board of Public Works Special Meeting MinutesLam-` SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 27, 1977 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Mullen and Mr. Brunner present. APPROVAL OF ADVERTISING FOR SALE OF REAL ESTATE The Board received -a request from the Morse Electric Company regarding possible purchase of the old Street Department garage property. In accordance with the Municipal Code, the Board adopted a resolution declaring the property not needed and submitted it to the Common Council for their concurrence. The Council approved the sale of the property. It was appraised and is now ready to be offered for sale. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board directed that the following Notice be published and sealed bids requested for the sale of the property: NOTICE OF SALE OF REAL ESTATE BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that the City of South Bend, pursuant to the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Chapter 30A, is offering for sale the following parcels of real estate: A tract or parcel of land containing approximately 201,412 square feet, or 4.62 acres, south of Corby and east of Niles Avenue - City Deed No. 240 and A tract or parcel of land containing approximately 48,300 square feet, or 1.1 acres, south of Corby and east of Niles Avenue - City Deed No. 263 commonly known as the old Street Department garage property. An offering sheet for the property is on file and available for inspection by any interested bidders in the office of the Board of Public Works, 1308 County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana. The Board will receive sealed bids until the 25th day of July, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. Bids will be opened by the Board at its office on the 25th day of July, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. The Board shall award the sale of the property to the highest and best bid equal to not less than the offering price. The terms of the sale are cash at the date of closing, all title and abstract costs to be paid by the purchaser and the City will execute its Quit -Claim Deed to the property.
