SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 23, 1976
A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened
at 8:55 a.m, on Thursday, October 28, 1976 by President Rollin
E. Farrand, with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present.
Mr. Farrand explained that the purpose of the special meeting was
to open proposals received for the curb and sidewalk reconstruction
on Kaley Street in the two blocks just south of Western Avenue.
The following proposals were opened and read:
Ba.tteaat Construction Company
Remove existing curbing - $1.60/L.F.
New curbing, incl. backfilling and sodding - $7.90L.F..
Remove and replace existing Sidewalk - $1.80/S.F.
Ziolkowski Construction Company
4" concrete walks - Unit price, $1.50 per square foot
Concrete curb - Unit price $8.65 per lineal foot
6" concrete approach Unit rice $1.60 per square foot
Landscaping - Unit price of .00 per square yard
McIntyre and Jones Construction Company
Curb Removal - $.90 per linear foot
Construct curb - $7.25 per linear foot
4" sidewalk removed and replaced - $16.20 per square yard
Seeding - $.90 per square yard
Rieth-Riley Construction Comnan
Curb Removal - $1.00 ft.
Walk Removal - $1.00/sy
Drive Removal - $1.00/sy
6" x 16" curb - $ 5.7 5 / 1f t .
4" concrete walk.- $10.50/sy
6" concrete drive pavement - $12.50/sy.
Backfill & Seed - $1,500.
Total approximate cost - $10,625.00
Mr. Farrand made a motion that the proposals be referred to the
Department of Engineering for the preparation of a bid tabulation
and report to the Board on November 1, 1976. Mr. Brunner seconded
the motion and it carried.
Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried,
the special meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
