Donald <br />South Bend, IN 46613 <br />SoUTH,6 <br />O4� <br />W� Al <br />MA <br />a �k <br />IS65 <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND PETE BUTTIGIEG, MAYOR <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />September 27, 2016 <br />RE: Residential Parking Zone — 100 East Block of Donald St. <br />Dear Mr. Hirsch: <br />PHONE 574/235-9251 <br />FAX 574/235-9171 <br />The Board of Public Works, at its regular meeting held on September 27, 2016, denied the <br />petition for a residential parking zone, as it did not meet the requirements of the South Bend <br />Municipal Code, <br />Chapter 20, Article 10, Section 20-114, as follows: <br />The South Bend Municipal Code indicates that curb space must be occupied seventy-five <br />percent (75%) of the time and the curb space must be occupied by non-residents at least <br />twenty-five (25%) of the time. <br />A survey was conducted by Traffic and Lighting on August 25, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. <br />and 5:00 p.m.; September 1 at 6:30 p.m.; September 2 at 7:00, 9:00 & 11:30 a.m., 2:00, 3:45 <br />and 5:30 p.m.; September 8, at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Results of the survey did <br />not indicate curb space was occupied more than 75% of the available parking spaces <br />If you have any questions, please call me at (574) 235-9251. <br />Sincerely, <br />Linda M.
