A Special Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
8:42 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 1991, by Board President John E.
Leszczynski. Also present was Board member Katherine Humphreys
and Board Attorney Jenny Pitts Manier. Board member Patricia E.
DeClercq was not in attendance.
AWARD BIDS - STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND
DEMOLITION PROJECT
Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a
Memorandum from Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of
Engineering, recommending that the low bid of Specialty Systems
of Illinois, South Bend Division, 1408 Elwood Avenue, South Bend,
Indiana, in the amount of $41,214.00 be awarded for Bid Package
No. 1 , Asbestos Abatement. Mr. Littrell noted that Specialty
Systems has proposed a fourteen (14) day completion time for this
project.
Additionally, Mr. Littrell recommended that the Board award the
low bid of Bradberry Brothers, Inc., 20061 Dice Street, South
Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $84,100.00 for Bid Package No. 2
r Demolition. It is noted that Bradberry Brothers has proposed a
ninety (90) day completion time for this project.
It is noted that bids for the asbestos abatement and demolition
in the Studebaker Corridor were received and opened by the Board
on July 1, 1991.
Therefore, Ms. Humphreys made a motion that the recommendations
be accepted and the bids be awarded. Mr. Leszczynski seconded
the motion which carried.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon_ a
motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and
carried, the meeting was adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
