Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on March 18, 1996, were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - HVAC UPGRADE - ADMINISTRATION BUILDING - WWTP - PROJECT NO. 94-19 This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1996 CURB AND SIDEWALK PROGRAM - PROJECT NO. 96-09 In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, P.E., Director, Division of Engineering, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will construct curbs, walks, driveway approaches and other public improvements in this year's program. Further, a total of $700,000 to cover this construction has been appropriated from the General Fund. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. Approved Effective March 25, 1996 Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved and/or released as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. FILING OF TAXI CAB RATE SCHEDULE Mr. Leszczynski stated that a taxi cab rate schedule was submitted to the Board, on behalf of Vernon C. Johnson, AAA Cab Company, 1629 Fassnacht Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that the Certificate of Public Convenience was approved by the Board on February 19, 1996. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the taxi cab rate schedule was filed. APPROVE CLAIMS Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $791,297.88 and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted one list containing claims in the amount of $74,662.50 and recommended approval. Ms. Ann Kolata, Department of Economic Development, submitted a claim for the Century Center Remodeling and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
