HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/16/01 Board of Public Works Special Meeting MinutesSPECIAL MEETING JULY 16 2001 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2001, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Mr. Donald E. Inks present. Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following item was added to the agenda: - Request to Advertise for the Receipt of Bids - Robert Bosch Corporation - Facilities Upgrade RACKS TREE GRATES - PROJECT NO. 101-028 - �1L� w�i n �� BENCHES BIKI This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs ofpublication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: THE ROBERT HENRY CORPORATION 404 South Frances Street South Bend, Indiana 46624 Bid was signed by Mr. Stephen R. Post Office Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana 46634 Bid was signed by Mr. Mark Nagle, Engineer/Estimator Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $54,930.00 WALSH & KELLY INC. 24358 State Road 23 South Bend, Indiana 46614 Bid was signed by Mr. Kevin Kelly, President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $53,774.00 SPECIAL MEETING MCINTYRE AND JONES CONSTRUCTION LLC 2526 West 6th Street Mishawaka, Indiana Bid was signed by Mr. Jeff Bradley, Managing Partner Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $55,676.55 JULY 16, 2001 Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS ROBERT BOSCH CORPORATION FACILITIES UPGRADE - PROJECT NO. 101-046 In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:35 a.m. 1 1 1
