BonDurant, Member <br />JUNE 13.2006 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, with <br />President Jesusa Rodriguez and Boazd Members Juanita Dempsey, Donald Alford, Bruce J. <br />BonDurant and Patrick D. Cottrell present. Also present were Police Chief Thomas H. Fautz, Fire <br />Chief Luther Taylor and Boazd Attorney Thomas Bodnaz. <br />. The meeting was held at the Central Fire Station, Lower Level Classroom, 1222 South Michigan <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana. <br />INTRODUCTION OF BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY MEMBERS <br />The Board of Public Safety Members introduced themselves to attendees of the Regular Meeting. <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor and Police Chief Thomas Fautz introduced themselves. Mayor Stephen <br />Luecke was introduced as well. Mr. Bodnar stated the Board of Public Safety Members were <br />citizens of the United States, are not employed by the City of South Bend, and had volunteered for <br />service with the Board of Public Safety. Members are appointed by the Mayor of the City of South <br />Bend. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />President Rodriguez advised that if there were no objections by members of the Board, the minutes <br />of the Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on May <br />24, 2006 would be accepted with corrections. There being no further discussion, upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carved, the minutes were accepted, with the <br />noted corrections. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF COMPLETION OF RECRUIT SCHOOL-BRENT VANBRUAENE <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor stated Mr. Brent VanBruaene was sworn in as a <br />South Bend Firefighter with a stipulation that he attend 20 weeks of recruit school. He has <br />successfully completed 20 weeks of recruit school and has met all the requirements. Upon a motion <br />made by Ms. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, the acknowledgment was accepted. <br />SWEARING IN OF FIREFIGHTERS <br />- ADRIAN KASER <br />- ALBERT MROCZKIEWICZ <br />- JEREMY REMBLE <br />- TATE VERMEULEN <br />Chief Luther Taylor recommended the above listed individuals be hired as probationary Firefighters. <br />
