We <br />have been clear that we want them moved <br />outside of redevelopment areas. The last <br />thing we want to do is move these parts to an <br />area we have continued interest in operating <br />and have to move them again. That will not <br />be the case here. <br /> <br />Mr. Varner said his objection was not to the <br />project, but the cost. He thinks there’s room <br />for negotiation of the price if the lease can’t <br />be rolled over because it is in default. He <br />thinks the city owes it to itself to have that <br />discussion. He does not feel the Commission <br />is obligated to honor a commitment from <br />eight years ago that was never put into <br />writing. <br /> <br />Ms. Jones asked whether legal counsel had <br />reviewed the agreement to determine whether <br />the city can extend a lease that is in default. <br />Mr. Leone said they had not. <br /> <br />Ms. King said she is not opposed to the <br />Termination Agreement as it is written. She <br />understands that the value of the inventory is <br />minimal. And she agrees that there is a <br />major public relations issue if we don’t <br />protect the parts. She asked if demolition <br />costs would be more if the parts were part of <br />demolition. Mr. Inks responded that there <br />would be additional cost, but not very much. <br /> <br />Mr. Varner said he understands there would <br />be people who would be very upset over the <br />destruction of the parts, but he feels the city <br /> 16 <br /> <br />
