Home My WebLink AboutApproving the issuance of a license renewal for scrap and junk dealerRESOLUTION NO. 2,7,3 XJ A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY , OF SOUTH BEND APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A LICENSE RENEWAL FOR SCRAP AND JUNK DEALER (STEVE AND GENE'S AUTO TRUCK SALVAGE, 3109 SOUTH GERTRUDE STREET). i WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes the contributions that recycling operations such as junk and scrap yards make to the community; and the Council further realizes that such operations must be reasonably regulated in order to minimize any environmental or aesthetic nuisances which may be created by the operations of scrap and junk yards within the city; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend has enacted reasonable rules and regulations with regard to the issuance of licenses and the operations of the scrap and junk dealers; and WHEREAS, in accordance with these rules and regulations, inspections of the scrap and junk yards are required to be completed by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau; and it has been determined that no code violations exist on the property of Steve and Gene's Auto Truck Salvage, 3109 South Gertrude Street; and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, at its meeting held on March 9, 1981, approved the renewal of license for Steve and Gene's Auto Truck Salvage, 3109 South Gertrude Street, subject to the approval of the Common Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. That the license renewal application-for Steve and Gene's Auto Truck Salvage, 3109 South Gertrude Street, be approved based upon the favorable review of the property by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau in accordance with the inspection reports attached hereto and made a -part hereof. SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. RESOLUTION NO. 7, 1981 GTHEREAS, a license renewal application for Steve and Gene's Auto Truck Salvage for the year 1981 has been received by the Board of Public Works; and I- HEREAS, inspections of the property have been completed by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau as required by Ordinance No. 6621 -79; and WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau have found that no code violations exist on the property; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 6621 -79 requires approval of a Resolution of the Board of Public Works authorizing the renewal of the license appli- cation. Copies of the inspection reports are enclosed as required by Ordinance No. 6894 -81, passed by the Common Council on February 23, 1981. The Board of Public Works approved the issuance of the license for Steve and Gene's on March 9, 1981, based upon the favorable review of the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office and the Fire Prevention Bureau.
