TAX ABATEMENT IMPACT AREAS <br />EXHIBIT "B" <br />LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS <br />ATTACHED TO RESOLUTION NO. 879 -81 <br />This attachment is attached to the South Bend Common Council's Resolution No. <br />namely: <br />"A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE GENERAL ATTITUDES AND INTENTIONS <br />OF THE COMMON COUNCIL AND THE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND RELATING TO THE GRANTING OF TAX ABATEMENT <br />PER I.C. 6.1.1 -12.1 AND THE DESIGNATION OF THE ABATEMENT IM- <br />PACT AREAS." <br />For the purposes of the above referenced Resolution, the following descriptions <br />are intended to encompass those areas therein declared Tax Abatement Impact <br />areas: <br />MONROE /SAMPLE AREA - Beginning at the intersection of the cen- <br />terline of Michigan Street and Monroe Street in said City; thence <br />East, approximately 2120 feet, along said Monroe Street center- <br />line, to the intersection of the centerlines of Monroe Street <br />and Lincoln Way East; thence Southeasterly, approximately 1820 <br />feet, along said Lincoln Way East centerline, to the centerline <br />of the Cooper Bridge; thence Northeasterly, approximately 250 <br />feet, along said centerline to the West bank of the St. Joseph <br />River; thence southeasterly, approximately 1200 feet, along said <br />West bank of the St. Joseph River, to the centerline of the <br />Grant Trunk Western Railroad right -of -way; thence Southwesterly, <br />approximately 1150 feet, along said centerline, to the centerline <br />of the New York Central Railroad right -of -way; thence Northwesterly, <br />approximately 950 feet, along said centerline, to the centerline of <br />the first fourteen foot alley South of and parallel to Sample Street; <br />thence West, approximately 1900 feet, along said alley centerline <br />extended, to the centerline extended of the fourteen foot alley <br />lying between and parallel to Michigan Street and St. Joseph Street; <br />thence North, approximately 150 feet, along said alley centerline <br />extended, to the centerline of Sample Street; thence West, approxi- <br />mately 205 feet, along said centerline, to the centerline of <br />Michigan Street; thence North, approximately 2140 feet,-along said <br />centerline, to the point of beginning. <br />R -66 MODIFIED'AREA - Beginning at the intersection of the center- <br />lines of Plain Street and Colfax Avenue in said City; thence South, <br />approximately 2970 feet, along said Main Street centerline, to the <br />centerline of South Street; thence East, approximately 440 feet, <br />along said centerline, to the centerline of Michigan Street; thence <br />4.8.81 <br />R- 4.13.81 <br />R- 4.14.81 <br />
