'j %4 Y$') <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING ALL ORGANIZATIONS <br />AND CONCERNED CITIZENS IN THEIR CO�4TINUING EFFORT <br />TO SEE THAT THE SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORP- <br />ORATION WEIGH THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE ENTIRE <br />C014MUNITY WHEN CONSIDERING SUCCESSFUL AND PEACE- <br />FUL INTEGRATION PLANS <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes that for the past <br />several months many concerned citizens and organizations have.parti- <br />cipated in voicing their opinions on the proposed intergration plans <br />for the South Bend Community Schools; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that this issue has created a <br />great deal of concern and discussion in attempting to achieve quality <br />integrated schools which are in the best interest of our children; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council commends the hundreds of parents, students, <br />organizations such as the Clav Quality Education, Inc., and the N.A.A.C.P. <br />in __ participating in these processes to insure that their voices are <br />heard by the South Bend Community School Corporation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana,as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, commends the hundreds of parents, students, teachers and organ- <br />izations such as the Clay Quality Education, Inc. and the N.A.A.C.P. <br />voicing their views and opinions to the South Bend Community School <br />Corporation on the proposed integration plans. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council hopes that all of these con- <br />cerned citizens and groups will continue to work to see that the best <br />interests of our entire community are considered when peacefully <br />implementing the plan. <br />SECTION III.
