RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA., AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SMALL RENTAL REHABILITATION DEMONSTRATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has initiated a demonstration project to provide assistance to.cities seeking to design programs to rehabilitate small rental properties; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, in accordance with its Housing Assistance Plan, recognizes the need to develop such programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT'THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. Hereby authorizes the Division of Community Development to submit an application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to participate in the Small Rental Rehabilitation Demonstration Project. SECTION II. Hereby designates the Division of Community Development as the administrative agent for the program. SECTION III. Hereby indicates its willingness to appropriate funds as necessary from the Community Development Block Grant to implement the demonstration program, if the City's application is approved. SECTION IV. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
