Auburn <br />Member <br />Consistent with recent efforts by the City of South Bend, St. Joseph <br />County, and other interested parties to secure a commitment from the <br />New Energy Corporation of Indiana to construct their proposed ethanol <br />facility in South Bend, the attached resolution has been prepared. <br />This resolution will grant permission to the Mayor and the Department <br />of Redevelopment to apply to the State of Indiana for their assistance <br />in these efforts. Our request to the State is for fiscal assistance in <br />the amount of $1,308,349. We will be requesting that the State con- <br />sider providing us assistance through anyone of,or a combination of <br />a variety of funds currently available to the State for industrial de- <br />velopment and economic development purposes. Specifically, these <br />funds are the Industrial Sewer Set -Aside Fund, the Industrial Highway <br />Set -Aside Fund, and the Economic Development Fund administered through <br />the Indiana Department of Commerce. <br />
