<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above
<br />Quotations were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation.
<br />After reviewing those bids, Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering, recommends that the Board
<br />award the project to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Ritschard Bros., Inc.,
<br />1204 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $23,379.00. Therefore,
<br />Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be
<br />awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD OUOTATION -ROOF REPLACEMENT -FIRE STATION NO. 7 -
<br />PROJECT NO. 106-066 (2006 C1P)
<br />Chief Rick Switalski, Fire Department, advised the Board that on August 14, 2006,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing
<br />those quotation, Chief Switalski recommends that the Board award the contract to the
<br />lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, KRC Roofmg & Sheet Metal, 3702 West
<br />Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $39,950.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined
<br />above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carved.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - R1VER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP
<br />CENTER PUBLIC WORKS -AREA 7 RAMPS -PROJECT NO. 106-050 (GENERAL
<br />FUND
<br />Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering, advised the Board. that on August 14, 2006, quotations
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Nichols recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsive and responsible bidder, McIntyre Jones, Inc., 2522 Mishawaka Avenue,
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $7,962.40. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion
<br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr.
<br />Littrell seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />REJECT QUOTATIONS -BRICK ROAD WATER MAIN INSTALLATION
<br />PORTAGE TO GARDEN OAK DRIVE - PROJECT NO. 106-065 (BOND)
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Bob Krol, Water Works, stated quotations were
<br />received on August 14, 2006, for the above referenced project. The Street Department
<br />indicated they could complete the project in the amount of $36,200.00, which was one-
<br />half the cost of the lowest quotation received. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot,
<br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the quotations were rejected, and the Street
<br />Department will complete the project.
<br />AWARD BID - 2006 ROAD SALT - PROJECT NO. 106-062 (GENERAL
<br />FUND/SEWAGE WORKS)
<br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, advised the Board that on August 14, 2006, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to items. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Durr recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsive and
<br />responsible bidder, Indian Trucking Company, Portage, Indiana, in the amount of $44.80
<br />per ton, delivered. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />AWARD BID -SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET PUBLIC WORKS -SAMPLE TO
<br />BRONSON STREETS - PROJECT NO. 16-044 (COIT)
