%~5 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 14.2006 <br />It was noted the above referenced contractors did not submit the Non-Debarment <br />Affidavit and Nondiscrimination Commitment for Contractors form. They must submit <br />this information within 24 hours for their quote to receive further consideration. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above Quotations <br />were referred to South Bend Heritage Foundation for review and recommendation. <br />It was noted that South Bend Heritage Foundation, who prepared the quotation <br />specifications, did not follow State Statute in bidding. The Board authorized President <br />Gary Gilot to work with South Bend Heritage Foundation to resolve the issue. The Board <br />also stated this regular meeting would be re-convened to August 15, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. to <br />complete the award process for this project. Upon amotion made by Mr. Inks, seconded <br />by Mr. Gilot and tamed, the meeting would be re-convened to August 15, 2006 at 10:30 <br />a.m. for Agenda Items 3C, 3D and 3E. <br />AWARD BID -SOUTH OLIVE STREET SANITARY SEWER REPAIR -PROJECT <br />NO. 106-054 (2006 SEWER BOND) <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, advised the board that on August 7, 2006, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Durr recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible responsive <br />bidder, Hemnan & Goetz, 225 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$786,487.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion, <br />which carried. <br />AWARD BID - DEMOLITION OF 525 SOUTH MAIN STREET (FORMER <br />STUDEBAKER MUSEUM) - PROJECT NO. 106-026 (GENERAL FUND) <br />Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering, advised the board that on August 7, 2006, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Nichols recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible <br />responsive bidder, C&E Excavating, 53767 C.R. 9, Elkhart, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$224,998.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion, <br />which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS -ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mr. Gary Libby, Code Enforcement, advised the board that on July 24, 2006, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to vehicles.
