204 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 26, 2006 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot, and carried, the above bids <br />were referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT (F800 <br />DISTRIBUTOR AND TWO (2) PACKERS) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to <br />items. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News, which were found to be sufficient. No Bids were received. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS/AWARD QUOTATION -DEMOLITION OF 1743 <br />COMMERCE DRIVE (FORMER VANDERHEYDEN DISTRIBUTING BUILDINGI - <br />PROJECT NO. 106-052 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed <br />Quotations for the above referenced project. The following Quotations were opened and <br />read: <br />WARNER & SONS, INC. <br />Post Office Box 87 <br />Elkhart, Indiana 46515 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Mark Weaver <br />QUOTATION: $4Q,348.00 <br />R&R EXCAVATING <br />2010 Went Avenue <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. William Loudin <br />QUOTATION: $'59,000.00 <br />B&J EXCAVATING, INC. <br />1104 West Donald Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46613 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Darnell O'Neal <br />QUOTATION: $59;545.00 <br />RITSCHARD BROS, INC. <br />1204 West Sample Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Quotation was submitted by Ritshard Bros., Inc. <br />QUOTATION: $61,420.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above <br />Quotations were referred to the Division of Engineering and Community and Economic <br />Development for review and recommendation. <br />After reviewing those bids, Mr. Rob Nichols, Engineering, recommends that the Board <br />award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Warner & Sons, Inc., <br />the amount of $40,348.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above.
