South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting –July 24, 2009 <br /> <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS (CONT) <br /> <br />will be coming to downtown South Bend soon and <br />staying for a year. The Community Foundation is <br />paying for the exhibit to be here. Large sculptures will <br />be located along Michigan Street, at Key Bank Plaza, <br />Jon Hunt Plaza, in front of the renovated bank at 101 N. <br />Michigan and the College Football Hall of Fame. Then, <br />there will be an interior exhibition at the South Bend <br />Museum of Art. <br /> <br />There will be some cost to the Commission, <br />approximately $15,000, for their installation, due to the <br />large cranes needed to place sculptures of that size. He <br />asked for Commission authorization to use up to <br />$15,000 of downtown TIF for that purpose. <br /> <br />Mr. Gibney noted that the value of the sculptures is one <br />million dollars or more, each. <br /> <br />PR <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Alford <br />ROGRESS EPORTS AND AUTHORIZAITON TO <br />$15,000 <br />EXPEND UP TO FOR ERECTION AND <br />and unanimously carried, the Commission authorized <br />GR <br />STABILIZATION OF THE EORGE ICKEY EXHIBIT <br />expenditure of up to $15,000 for erection and <br />SB <br />IN DOWNTOWN OUTH END <br />stabilization of the George Rickey exhibit in downtown <br />South Bend. <br /> <br /> <br />8.
