These <br />Commissions are renewed for these individuals to be able to be employed as Crossing Guards for <br />schools with police power to enter streets and/or street intersections and to stop or otherwise direct <br />both vehicular and pedestrian traffic upon the street. <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that a Special Police Commission be renewed or issued for <br />the following for the purpose of Armorer: <br />- Anthony A. Gish <br />This commission includes the power to carry a weapon in his capacity as Armory Specialist. His <br />duties include the training of all officers in firearms for the South Bend Police Department and <br />qualifying all individuals for Special Police Commissions that require the carrying of a weapon. Mr. <br />Gish handles weapons for the Police Department and the reloading of ammunition. <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Special Police Commissions be renewed or issued for <br />the following for the purpose of South Bend Park Department: <br />- Gary Hurt <br />- Steve Orlowski <br />- Terry Wheeler <br />These commissions do authorize the individuals to carry a weapon, carry a South Bend Police <br />Department radio and take police reports in South Bend Park and Recreations properties. <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Special Police Commissions be renewed or issued for <br />the following for the purpose of South Bend Parks Department: <br />- Betsy Harriman - Randy Nowacki <br />- Phil St. Clair - Frank DuPriest <br />These commissions are do not include the powers of arrest nor the carrying of a weapon. The <br />individuals are authorized to carry a South Bend Police Department radio. <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Special Police Commissions be renewed or issued for <br />the following for the purpose of South Bend Fire Department Arson Investigators: <br />- Russell A. Buysse <br />- Steven Wieger <br />- Robert Brechtl <br />These commissions do not have the powers of arrest but have the power to carry a weapon while <br />acting in the capacity of Arson Investigators. <br />Police Chief Thomas Fautz recommended that Special Police Commissions be renewed or issued for <br />the following for the purpose of on-street patrol parking enforcement personnel: <br />
