BEND, !y. <br />RE: A request to fast track Bill No. 08 -08, a rezoning for <br />3515 McKinley Ave. for the Common Council's February 25th meeting <br />Dear Mr. Voorde: <br />The City of South Bend Department of Community & Economic Development has been working <br />with the development team that is pursuing a rezoning for land adjacent to the former Target store <br />at Hickory and McKinley. A rezoning request has been filed and will be heard by the Area Plan <br />Commission on February 19`h and would typically not be heard by the Common Council for final <br />approval until March 10. <br />Due to project timeline constraints, the City respectfully requests -your assistance in scheduling <br />this project for its final hearing and approval at your regular meeting on Monday, February 25`h <br />It is also anticipated that a tax abatement for this same project would also be on the Council's <br />agenda in the form of a confirming resolution. <br />We believe that this project would be an asset to development efforts in this quadrant of the City <br />and that this project could help to further stimulate the development and redevelopment efforts at <br />this greyfield site. <br />Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation on this matter.
