Re: Ordinance Approving of Sale of Real Estate by the Park Department to the South Bend Community School Corporation Dear Mr. Kelly: The Park Department and the School Corporation have been discussing the sale of real estate by the Park Department to the School Corporation for use by the School Corporation in its Riley High School project. The real estate in question is part of the Studebaker Golf Course and is located near the former intersection of the vacated Calvert and Rush Streets. Located on the real estate is a golf maintenance building. The purchase price for the real estate is $136,000. At least a portion (if not all) of the funds received from the sale of the real estate would be applied to the construction of a new golf course maintenance building. The Park Board will consider a resolution regarding the sale of the real estate at its meeting on March 17th. The Board of School Trustees will also consider a resolution on March 17th. The School Corporation would like to acquire the property as quickly as possible for the Riley High School Project. The ordinance is submitted with the request that it be heard on first reading on March 10th with final reading and adoption on March 24th.
