Mr. Goodrich made a motion to adopt the fees. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion and it <br />was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. DeRosa reported that the accreditation committee will be flying in tonight to begin <br />their inspection tomorrow and will be here for two days. <br /> <br />2.He gave a presentation to the City Council on all the improvements that have been done <br />and it was well received. <br /> <br />3.The month of May was very busy. Year end field trips were coming through. <br /> <br />4.The white alligator has arrived and is on exhibit for the summer. <br /> <br />5.Urban Adventures will be using the Zoo for their program in July. They are anticipating <br />500 people to participate. <br /> <br /> <br />X.Comments by Maintenance Superintendent <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. Mike Dyszkiewicz informed the Board that mowing and trimming are underway. In <br />addition to our full time employees, fifteen part time are working, as well as ten others <br />doing the centralized mowing of city lots. <br /> <br />2.The Zoo’s parking lot was striped in house. <br /> <br />3.There are several greenhouse projects underway. <br /> <br />4.General repairs are ongoing. <br /> <br /> <br />XI.Comments by the Development Director <br /> <br /> <br />1.Mr. Payton reported that an article will be running in the Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />newsletter regarding our programs. <br /> <br />2.Martin’s Supermarkets is doing a half page flyer to include with grocery orders <br /> <br />highlighting National Parks and Recreation month. <br /> <br />3.The rendering of the new outdoor performing arts pavilion at Potawatomi will be <br />displayed in the windows at the Morris Performing Arts Center. He thanked Dennis <br /> <br />Andres for that space. <br /> <br />4.The Inn at St. Mary’s is interested in partnering with us. <br /> <br />5.WRBR is a sponsor for the Superintendent’s Golf Outing and has been airing spots about <br /> <br />it and golf in general. <br /> <br />6.Interviews for the Park Foundation Board will be scheduled in the near future. Working <br />with Director St. Clair and Dennis Banis, names of potential candidates have been put <br />together. <br /> <br /> <br />XII.There being no more business to come before the Board the meeting adjourned at <br />5:35 p.m. <br /> <br /> - - 3 - - <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
