• RESOLUTION NO. ~~:~`~ ~- RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN ACTIONS INCLUDING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGENCY AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS RELATING TO REDEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, NEAR NORTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD AREA WHEREAS, pursuant to Ind. Code § 36-7-14-1, et seq., the South Bend Redevelopment Commission ("Commission") is empowered to undertake certain actions necessary to accomplish the • planning, development and redevelopment of areas determined to be in need of redevelopment within the City of South Bend ("City"); and WHEREAS, the Commission may also undertake certain actions throughout the City if such actions will benefit or serve those areas needing redevelopment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the powers and duties granted the Commission by Ind. Code § 36- 7-14, the Commission desires to acquire and dispose of a variety of properties in order to develop and improve that area of the City more commonly known as the "Near Northwest Neighborhood" ("Project"); and WHEREAS, in accomplishing the Project, the Commission intends to enter into certain agreements with various Itldiana not-for-profit corporations meeting the requirements of LC. 36-1-11-1(a)(7) which may include agreements necessary to purchase and dispose of real property; •
