Vice- <br />Chairperson; Karen White; Oliver Davis <br />Other Council Members Present: Derek Dieter; Ann Puzzello; Tim Rouse; AI "Buddy" <br />Kirsits <br />Others Present: Rita Kopala; Martha Lewis; Tom Price; Kathy Cekanski- <br />Farrand; Paul Phair <br />Agenda: Bill No. 51-09 -Appropriation -General Fund #101 "All American City" <br />Chairperson LaFountain allowed Tom Price, Assistant to Mayor Luecke, to make the <br />presentation. Tom Price described the delegation of City Officials, civic leaders and others who <br />went to Tampa, FL in June to represent the city in their competition for South Bend to become a <br />designated "All-American City." Expenses for the effort amounted to nearby $38,000. This <br />resolution would allow appropriation of monies donated for the effort. Price provided a handout of <br />donors while emphasizing tax dollars were not being used for the campaign. <br />After brief discussion, Councilmember Varner motioned to go to Council favorably. <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis followed with a second and all approved. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee at this time, Chairperson <br />LaFountain adjourned the meeting at 4:03 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />--, <br />Tom LaFountain, Chairperson <br />Personnel and Finance Committee <br />
