REGULAR MEETING JUNE 22, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Henry Davis, Vice-Chairperson, Community and Economic <br />Development Committee, reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill <br />this afternoon and sends it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Ann Kolata, Department of Community & Economic Development, 12 Floor <br />County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, made the <br />presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Ms. Kolata advised that this bill would appropriate funds from a $400,000.00 EPA grant <br />for our Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund and $178,644 in repayments from previous <br />loans made from this fund. These funds will be used to make additional loans/grants for <br />environmental remediation within the City of South Bend as allowed under EPA rules. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Oliver Davis <br />seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 43-09 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> APPROPRIATING $74,500 FROM HALL <br /> OF FAME DEPRECIATION FUND (#677) <br /> <br />Councilmember LaFountain, Chairperson, Personnel and Finance Committee, reported <br />that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and sends it to the <br />full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Catherine Fanello, City Controller, 12 Floor County-City Building, 227 W. <br />Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Ms. Fanello advised that it is necessary to make some various building repairs to the Hall <br />of Fame due to aging equipment and the building. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
