The properties proposed to be added <br />include the following: <br />- The Manor 118 S William 2 parcels <br />- Fred's Transmission 501 W Western 3 parcels <br />- GMS Realty-Toyota Properties 300 & 400 blk of Western 10 parcels <br />- Schillings Camera Store 325-329 S Lafayette 1 parcel <br />- Nor Systems Inc. Computer Store 301 S Lafayette 1 parcel <br />The addition of these properties to the acquisition list will allow the Redevelopment <br />Commission the flexibility to acquire development parcels adjacent to existing owned <br />Commission properties and allow for controlled and consistent development planning in the <br />Coveleski Park area. At the present time, the Fred's Transmission and the Nor Systems <br />property (and a service use on the Gates site) are the only active uses on these properties <br />and all of the other properties currently are vacant. A specific overview of each parcel and <br />the proposed redevelopment plan for the property is included in a separate report. <br />Staff requests Commission approval of Declaratory Resolution 2551 to begin the process to <br />amend the South Bend Central Development Area Development Plan and add 17 <br />properties to the acquisition list. If approved by the Redevelopment Commission, a <br />resolution will be put before the Area Plan Commission and then the Common Council for <br />approval before a confirming resolution would be presented to the Commission for final <br />approval. Approval for advertising for the Public Hearing is also requested of the <br />Commission. Advertising would be done after approval from the Common Council is <br />granted. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference! <br />
