ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED FIRE PREVENTION Stateme_n_t of Purpose and Inte_n_t By I.C. 36-8-17-6 the Fire Department of South Bend is in charge of enforcing the Indiana Fire Code and a new Indiana Fire Code, the 1998 edition having been recently adopted by the State of Indiana, the following amendments are made to the Fire Prevention Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: Section I Chapter 9 of the South Bend Municipal Code is amended to xead as follows: ARTICLE 1. FIRE PREVENTION CODE Sec. 9-1. Definition As used in this chapter, the Indiana Fire Code, hereinafter referred to as the IF~C means the fire prevention code of the City. Sec. 9-2. Indiana Fire Prevention Code adopted by reference. The IF~C, ~@ 1998 edition, as promulgated by the Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission, together with any and all references thereto is made a part of this chapter with the same force and effect as though set out in full herein as the official fire prevention code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, except for such changes, additions, or deletions as are specified in this chapter.
