ORDINANCE NO. ~~ ~ i - q ~ <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $138,000 RECEIVED FROM THE U. S. <br />DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT'S EMERGENCY SHELTER <br />GRANT PROGRAM <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />In order to deliver services to homeless individuals within our community, the City of <br />South Bend received funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />the delivery of such services through various subgrantees. The funds appropriated in this <br />ordinance will aid in defraying the costs of shelter operation and maintenance and in providing <br />essential services and assistance in homeless prevention. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />Section I. The sum of $138,000 is hereby appropriated and allocated among accounts as <br />set forth below: <br />PROJECT NUMBER DESCRIPTION <br />ES 99-1 Center for the Homeless, Inc. <br />ES 99-2 St. Joseph County AIDS Task Force <br />ES 99-3 Youth Service Bureau <br />ES 99-4 YWCA of St. Joseph County <br /> Administrative Costs <br /> TOTAL <br />AMOUNT <br />$50,000 <br />10,000 <br />22,000 <br />50,000 <br />6,000 <br />$138,000 <br />Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended for any of the programs <br />addressed in this ordinance prior to completion and subsequent certification of the <br />Environmental Review Process specified in Title Twenty-four (24) Part Fifty-Eight (58) of the <br />Code of Federal Regulations, containing the Environmental Review Procedures for the <br />Emergency Shelter Grants Program, and the receipt of an official release of funds from the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development. <br />Section III.
