ORDINANCE NO. ~~~ / D ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND ESTABLISHING A PURCHA5ING AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA Statement of Puroose and Intent WHEREAS, I.C. 5-22 (the "Act") applies to every expenditure of public funds by a governmental body; WHEREAS, the City of South Bend is a governmental body under the Act; and WHEREAS, the Act authorizes the Common Council to establish a purchasing agency for the City; and WHEREAS, the Common Council desires to establish a purchasing agency for the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: Section I. The Purchasing Agency for the City is hereby established as the Mayor. Section II. The Purchasing Agency shall have all the powers and duties authorized under I.C. 5-22, as may be supplemented from time to time by ordinances adopted by the Council and policies adopted by the Purchasing Agency or .his purchasing agents. Section III. The Purchasing Agency shall act as the purchasing agency for every agency, board, office, branch, bureau, commission, council, department or other establishment of the City. Section N. The Purchasing Agency may designate in writing any employee of the City as a purchasing agent. Section V.
