CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />PETITIOEI FOR REAL PROPERTY TAk ABP+TEiVEhIT CONSIDERATIQN <br />The undersigned owner(s) of real property, located within the City of South Bend, <br />hereby petition the Common Council of the City of South Bend for real property tax <br />abatemenfi consideration and pursuant to 1.C., 6-1.1-12.1-1, et se .and South Bend <br />Municipal Code Sec. 2-76 et seg:, for this petition states the following: <br />Describe the proposed redevelopment or rehabilitation project, including <br />information about physica{ improvements to be made, the proposed use of the <br />improvements, and a general statement as to the importance of the project to <br />your business: <br />The proposed redevelopment, known 'as the "Ontario", is a specula=. <br />tive light industrial building that will house multiple tenants <br />that=perform a wide variety of business functions. The building <br />will be constructed using pre-cast concrete panels and utilize <br />green building techniques such as fluorescent lighting in the <br />warehouse. This is the second speculative building built at <br />Portage Prairie, the first being the Huron. The Huron was built <br />on a speculative basis and currently has approximately 60 people <br />working there on a daily basis. <br />Land Size ~ 2 Acres acres; Building Size ~ 57, 50o sq.ft. <br />2. Describe the overall nature of the business and of the operations occurring at <br />the Property (attach additional sheet if more space is needed): <br />Due to the fact that this building is being built on a speculati= <br />ve basis we can only estimate what types of businesses will <br />locate in this facility. We are assuming that there will~be a <br />broad mix of businesses including, but not limited to, medical ~; <br />supply companies, data storage facilities, food/general dist;ribu= <br />tion facilities, printing companies, light assembly, etc. In our <br />attempt to accomodate a wide range of users we are designing the <br />building to be as flexible as possible. <br />3.
