J <br />- ; L~~9 <br />~.. <br />ire. <br />RE: Commercial Real Property Tax Abatement Petition for: <br />WAGGONER FARM DEVELOPMENT, L.P./ONTARIO PARTNERS, L.P. <br />Dear Council Member Rouse: <br />Please find attached the Department of Community & Economic Development's report on a <br />commercial real property tax abatement petition for the above-referenced petitioner for construction <br />of a structure to be known as the "Ontario Building". It will be located in the Portage Prairie <br />Development Area. Also attached is a copy of the petition, Statement of Benefits form, and <br />supporting information. <br />The report contains the Department's findings relative to the above petition. The petitioner, <br />Waggoner Farm Development/Ontario Partners, proposes to construct a 157,000 square foot <br />building. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $5,000,000. Waggoner Farm Development <br />intends to transfer the property to Ontario Partners. Based on the Public Benefit Points system staff <br />has calculated that the abatement term should be six years. However, the petitioner has verbally <br />indicated their intent to ask for anine-year real property tax abatement. This is further explained in <br />the attached report.
