PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION COMMITTEE <br />MAY 26. 2009 <br />Committee Members Present: Tom LaFountain, Vice-Chairperson; Henry Davis; <br />Timothy Rouse <br />Other Council Members Present: Karen White; Ann Puzzello; Derek Dieter; <br />Others Present: Chuck Bulot; Gary Gilot; Judy Jankowski; Kathleen <br />Cekanski-Farrand; Rita Kopala <br />Agenda: Bill No. 27-09 -Low-voltage Permit Fees <br />Councilmember LaFountain, Vice-Chairperson, presided in Chairperson Varner's absence. He <br />called upon Building Commission Chuck Bulot to make a presentation. Chuck maintained the <br />substitute version up for consideration created an exemption for providers of "communications <br />services" and satellite TV installers from registration and fees; but not compliance with electrical <br />codes. Gary Gilot, Director, Public Works, offered support for the bill. After a brief discussion <br />Councilmember Rouse motioned to send to Council favorably. Councilmember Henry Davis <br />seconded and all supported. <br />Bill No. 35-09 -Vacation of an alley at 3509 S. Main <br />Judy Jankowski representing the petitioner requested the bill be continued to the next meeting on <br />June 8, 2009. this was primarily due to questions raised by the adjacent property owner about <br />ownership of the vacated alley.
