RESOLUTION NO. 3 S 7 S -0~ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, SUPPORTING THE CONGRESS AND THE PRESIDENT OF <br />THE UNITED STATES IN RECOGNIZING THE WEEK OF APRIL 10 -16, 2006 <br />AS NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK <br />Whereas, the Congress of the United States, and the President of the United States <br />have established the second week of April as National Telecommnicators Week; and <br />Whereas, as a corps of dedicated public safety telecommunicators serve the City <br />of South Bend, and <br />Whereas, National Telecommunicators Week has been observed in the United <br />States since 1981; and <br />Whereas, the City of South Bend considers the services of the public safety <br />telecommunicators to be vital to the interest of the community; and <br />Whereas, recognizing the services of the public safety telecommunicators is in the <br />best interests and safety of the City of South Bend, we would like to publicly thank all of <br />the telecommunicators for their dedication and experience that largely goes unnoticed. <br />Now, Therefore, be it resolved, by the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana, <br />as follows: <br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Common Council would like to publicly thank all of the public telecommunicators for <br />their hard work and diligence in helping to keep the City of South Bend a safer place. <br />Section II. The Common Council also recognizes that although this is a "silent <br />service", it is a very important service and we appreciate all public safety <br />telecommunicators. <br />Section III.
