The signage is being requested by the East Bank Village Association who would like to see the property promoted for development. The sign would serve two purposes: 1) promote the site for development based on the East Bank Village Master Plan -Phase 1 and 2) enhance the aesthetic quality of the intersection and create awareness of the eclectic retail establislmlents along Hill St. and Colfax Ave. The above goals can be accomplished by installing a series of four poster boards, each measuring 4'x8', along the SW corner of the property. The poster boards would contain information on the leasing agent for the property as well as visual images fi•om the East Bank Village Master Plan- Phase 1. To enhance the aesthetic appeal of the intersection, staff recommends that a planting bed be also created at the base of the signs. Downtown South Bend Inc. (DTSB) ah•eady manages plantings in the East Bank area and will be responsible for maintaining the Hill and Colfax beds as necessary. Quotes for the work described above are attached. The source of funds would be the downtown TIF. The total estimate for this project is approximately $4,700. What We Do Today Makes A Difference!
