KENDALL <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />TAX ABATEMENT REPORT <br />TO: SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL <br />FROM: ROBERT MATHIA <br />SUBJECT: RESIDENTIAL REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT PETITION FOR: <br />BARBARA VIRGINIA SNIEGOWSKI REVOCABLE TRUST <br />DATE: January 26, 2006 <br />On January 26, 2006, a petition for residential tax abatement consideration for real properties located <br />at 917 North Saint Peter Street was filed with the City Clerk by the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization <br />Organization, Incorporated on behalf of the Barbara Virginia Sniegowski Revocable. Pursuant to Chapter 2, <br />Article 6, Section 2-77 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, this petition was referred to the <br />Department of Community and Economic Development for purposes of investigation and preparation of a <br />report determining whether the area qualifies as a Residentially Distressed Area pursuant to I.C.6-1.1-12.1 <br />and whether all zoning requirements have been met. <br />The Department of Community and Economic Development has reviewed the petition (a copy of <br />which is attached), investigated the area and makes the following report. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />Donald and Barbara Sniegowski are in the process of purchasing the vacant property at the above <br />identified address from the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization, Incorporated. They will <br />construct a new single story home there. The home will be approximately 2,000 square feet and have 7 <br />rooms, 2 bathrooms and a full basement. The cost of the home will be approximately $250,000. The <br />Sniegowski's plan to complete the purchase prior to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission meeting <br />scheduled for February 3, 2006. The Sniegowski's will place the property in the Barbara Virginia <br />Sniegowski Revocable Trust.
