GIBNEY
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear President Deiter and Council Members:
The attached ordinance will appropriate the first year of funding for Weed & Seed site #2
Northwest from the Department of Justice (DOJ) grant award of $175,000-for the period
of October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. The budget submitted as required with
the initial designation application was recently approved by the DOJ in January.
These funds are being used for programming related to the Weed & Seed required areas
of Law Enforcement, Community Policing and, Prevention, Intervention and Treatment
activities.
