REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 14-09 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS <br /> FOR CAPITAL AND PROGRAM <br /> EXPENDITURES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2009 <br /> INCLUDING, $298,000 FROM THE PARKS <br /> NON-REVERTING CAPITAL FUND, $115,000 <br /> FROM THE COVELESKI STADIUM FUND, <br /> $100,000 FROM THE NON-REVERTING <br /> RECREATION FUND, $4,000 FROM THE EAST <br /> RACE WATERWAY, $1,500 FROM THE <br /> CEMETERY TRUST FUND <br /> <br />Councilmember Ann Puzzello, Chairperson, PARC Committee, reported that this <br />committee met this afternoon on this bill and sends it to full Council with a favorable <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />th <br />Catherine Fanello, City Controller, 12 Floor County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson <br />Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Ms. Fanello advised that this bill would allow the Park Department to get started on <br />several initiatives before the Spring Season starts and all of these requests are from users’ <br />fees they are not from property tax dollars. She stated that there is enough cash to <br />appropriate these expenditures. <br /> <br />Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand stated that Exhibit A is now officially on <br />record. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Rouse made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
