AMIN (CHOICE SUITES) <br />Dear Council Member Dieter: <br />Please find attached the Department of Community & Economic Development's report on a <br />commercial real property tax abatement petition for the above-referenced petitioner for construction <br />of a new facility located at 60971 U.S. 31 South. Also attached is a copy of the petition, Statement of <br />Benefits form, and supporting information. <br />The report contains the Department's findings relative to the above petition. The petitioner, Ranjan <br />J. Amin proposes to tear down the existing Drake Motel and replace it with a new three-story, 71- <br />room Choice Suites hotel. The petitioner is asking for a special exception because the project <br />does not meet the general standards for real property tax abatement as set forth in the City's <br />code. Ranj an J. Amin is seeking a (3) three-year real property tax abatement, and a representative of <br />Ranjan J.
