He disclosed that he is one of <br />many investors in the South Bend <br />Professional Baseball LLC. <br /> <br />Mr. Gibney asked if Mr. Schalliol knew what <br />potential users might also make use of the <br />facility. Mr. Schalliol responded that the <br />Silver Hawks have been talking to the <br />owners of the adjacent Monroe Circle <br />complex for youth baseball activities. Other <br />high school teams use the Cove and could <br />also benefit from this facility year round. <br /> <br />Mr. Varner asked where the funds would <br />come from for this expense. Mr. Schalliol <br />responded they would be taken from the <br />South Bend Central Development Area TIF. <br /> <br />Ms. Jones asked if the decision has been <br />made to not demolish the building, would <br />there be other users who would want the <br />building. Mr. Schalliol responded that no <br />one has inquired about it, and there is a <br />building for lease across the street that has <br />had no takers. <br /> <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that some of the scope of <br />services proposed are environmental testing <br />that the city would eventually pay for. <br /> <br />Mr. Gibney predicted that this building <br />would not be used for this purpose for more <br />than five years. The HOK plan is for <br />commercial development along the Western <br />Avenue corridor and Lafayette Street <br />corridor. That is why we anticipated <br /> 8 <br /> <br />
