Fund #454 -AED/UEZ <br />Timothy Rouse, Chairperson, Community & Economic Development Committee chaired the joint <br />hearing with the Personnel & Finance Committee. <br />Under consideration was Bill No. 12-09 which would create a new fund for the deposit of excess <br />proceeds derived from parcels located in the Airport Economic Development Area that are also <br />located in the UEZ. Councilmember Rouse asked Beth Leonard, Director of Financial <br />Management of the Economic Development Department, to explain the purpose of the fund. Ms. <br />Leonard stated the fund would be used for job training programs and basic skill development for <br />residents and employers in the Urban Enterprise Zone. <br />After brief questions Henry Davis motioned, seconded by Councilmember Oliver Davis and <br />unanimous support the bill was sent to full Council favorably. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Chairperson Rouse <br />adjourned the meeting at 5:40 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />+ !-~' /' <br />Timothy A.
