~~:.
~~ PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION COMMITTEE
MARCH 9.2009
Committee Members Present: David Varner, Chairperson; Tom LaFountain, Vice-
Chairperson; Timothy Rouse; Henry Davis
Other Council Members Present: Karen White; Ann Puzzello; Derek Dieter; AI
"Buddy" Kirsits; Oliver Davis
Others Present: Rita Kopala; Jamie Loo; Jeremy Toschlog;
Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand; Martha Lewis;
Derek Spier; Gary Gilot
Agenda: Bill No. 04-09 -Alley Vacation - Turnock & Kalorama
Bill No. 09-24 -Establish Date of Vacation of Real Property
Update on LED Conversion -Gary Gilot
BILL NO. 04-09
This bill had been continued from the last meeting because Derek Spier representing NNRO had
not done what was asked by the Council to accommodate the objections of the nearby residents.
Mr. Spier now evidenced a new re-plat (see attached) and spoke of a meeting with the residents
and apologized to the Council. Councilmember White and Councilmember Rouse both
expressed the importance of accounting for the neighbors objections. Because the committee
had sent the bill favorably at the last meeting, no further action was needed.
BILL NO. 09-24
This as described by ary Gilot merely added language to Ordinance No. 9467-03, clarifying a
specific date when property at Bartlett Street previously vacated would take effect. This
resolution tied up a loose end. On a motion by Councilmember Rouse, a second by
Councilmember Henry Davis, and support by all the bill was sent to Council favorably.
UPDATE LED CONVERSION
Gary Gilot briefly reported the "good news" found in the annual review of the energy performance
contract assessing the dollar savings to date resulting from the conversion of traffic signals to
LED.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Chairperson Varner adjourned
the meeting at 4:34 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
~ ~-- ~ ~
David Varner, Chairperson
Public Works and Property Vacation Committee
