Critchlow and me
yesterday and discussing the forms and computer record keeping
used to comply with our scrap yard licensing ordinance, § 4 -51
of the South Bend Municipal Code.
This letter is to confirm that the South Bend Police
Department recognizes and approves the computer program and the
forms that your business uses as sufficient to meet the purposes
of § 4- 51(j)(2). For this reason, pursuant to § 4- 51(j)(2)(h),
it is not necessary for you to obtain a thumbprint impression
upon completion of a transaction, as would otherwise be required.
Your exemption from the thumbprint requirement is in effect so
long as you maintain the computerized record keeping and forms
approved by the South Bend Police Department.
Thank you for your courtesy and cooperation. Please feel
free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ann Carol Nash
Assistant City Attorney
cc: Div..Chief Bishop, Det. Sgt.
