Currently the Police Department is administering
several Federal and State funded grants and is continually investigating
additional grant funding sources. To improve accounting efficiency and to
avoid the commingling of funds from various grants, the new funds created by
this ordinance will establish several new cost centers. Three new funds are created within the budget of the City of
South Bend, namely Fund # 280 Police Block Grants, Fund # 292 Police Grants,
and Fund # 295 COPS More Grants.
Section II. All sums of money deposited in either fund as distributed by
Federal and State grants shall be used solely for the purposes as stated in the
grant applications.
Section III. Any and all interest earned on monies deposited in Fund # 280
Police Block Grants, Fund # 292 Police Grants and Fund # 295 COPS More Grants,
shall remain in the fund.
Section IV. Monies remaining in each respective fund at the end of the
f seal year shall remain in each respective fund and not revert to any other fund.
Section V.
