associated with the potential City infrastructure necessary for these uses and the risk of damage <br />to the surrounding wetland areas. <br />Transitioning Elbel to a private golf course would maximize the total value to the city that <br />includes substantial revenue to reinvest in parks throughout the city, continued protection of the <br />surrounding wetlands, and avoided maintenance costs from the extension of city infrastructure. <br />This ownership change from public to private would also unlock an infusion of much needed <br />private capital for Elbel that would enhance golfers' experience. <br />On December 16, 2015 the Parks Board held a public meeting to elicit public comments on <br />whether the property should be sold and approved the sale of this property as part of their <br />Resolution No. 03 -2015. State statute requires the approval of the Common Council for the <br />property to continue the disposition process. <br />Thank you for your attention to this important issue. Brock Zeeb and others will be in attendance <br />at the January 25, 2016 Committee and Council meetings to present this ordinance and answer <br />any questions you or other councilmembers may have.
