ORDINANCE NO. ` ~ ©~ '' 05 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $59,850.00 PLUS ADDITIONAL NOMINAL INTEREST FROM GENERAL GRANT FUND (#250) FOR ART IN PUBLIC PLACES, AND CLOSING FUND #250 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT General Grant Fund #250 was established through a private contribution from the Goheen Trust which restricted the funds to the creation and support of Art in Public Places in South Bend. This ordinance appropriates all monies remaining in the Fund, i.e. $59,562.00 plus expected interest of about $290.00 through 2009, for the intended Goheen Trust purpose of creating and supporting art in public places, i.e., additional art work in the Jon Hunt Plaza, and a public exhibition of sculpture by South Bend native George Rickey through the Community Foundation. This appropriation will exhaust Fund #250 which should then be closed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. The sum of $59,850.00 plus any additional nominal interest is hereby appropriated from General Grant Fund #250 for art in public places including additional art work in the Jon Hunt Plaza and a public sculpture exhibition in downtown South Bend through the Community Foundation. Section II. Upon completion of the appropriation authorized in Section I, General Grant Fund #250 shall be closed. Section III.
